Raw Cacao (Chocolate) Smoothie

Here’s a deliciously healthy raw chocolate smoothie recipe.  In addition to raw cacao nibs, it includes Hemp seed oil, which is high in Omega-3 fatty acids.   The recipe also calls for maca powder, which is derived from the root of an Andean plant called the maca and is known as a superfood.  It also includes raw almonds, banana, spices and agave nectar for sweetening.

Raw Cacao (Chocolate) Smoothie

Ingredients:

3 Tbsp Shelled Hemp Seed
1 Tbsp Hemp Seed Oil
1 cup Raw Almonds
6 Tbsp Raw Cacao Nibs
3 Tbsp Maca powder
1/4 cup Raw Agave Syrup
Pinches of Nutmeg, Cinnamon, and Cayenne Pepper
1/2 Banana
3 cups water

Directions:

Combine almonds and water in a blender. Blend on high until smooth, then strain to create almond milk.

Grind fresh cacao pods in a coffee grinder to make cacao powder. Or you can purchase raw cacao powder.

Combine almond milk, cacao powder and all other ingredients in a blender. Blend on high until creamy and smooth.
